Golf has always been a sport steeped in tradition, with century-old rules and an unwavering adherence to etiquette.
But with the arrival of the LIV Tour (professional golf tour), a new era has dawned for the game. Some have questioned whether this new format is good for golf, but there is no denying the impact it has had on the sport.
Professional golf has never been hotter.
With college basketball turning into the wild west, NBA teams tanking, and the magic of baseball’s opening day beginning to subside, sports fans and twitter pundits alike turned their eyeballs this past weekend to the impeccably times Masters. Golf’s first major tournament more than lived up to expectations.
No, the result was not particularly close as Jon Rahm continued his unbelievable 2023, posting-12 and winning by four shots en route to his fourth victory and third career major. However, if this weekend showed us anything the sport of golf could not be in a better place.
The PGA Tour began in 1929 with the goal of showcasing golf’s greatest players.
With greats like Ben Hogan, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods all rising to fame on the tour, golf became a sport that people watched and respected. Not only does golf embody a lifestyle but it also represents prestige. These players admire the traditions within golf and aim to uphold them. The PGA Tour has been able to portray all of this while still conducting a competitive, professional league.
All of these values represented golf globally until now; the creation of LIV Golf has put everyone’s morals into perspective.

Yet beneath this exterior laziness was a talent that would lead him to become one of Jericho High School’s most accomplished golfers.
Happiness or greatness? For some people, there is a clear-cut answer.
“I’d rather do what I need to do and enjoy myself comfortably than put myself through hell to be first,” or “I can’t sleep at night unless my final product is perfect.”
However, today’s story will show why that question does not have such a black-and-white answer, and how maybe there really isn’t a difference between the two.
