From being a star at a small high school in Racine, Wisconsin to a star at one of the most prolific division one schools in the country, Tyrese Hunter has had an adversity-filled journey to becoming the NBA prospect he is today.
On March 31, 2023, Tyrese Hunter declared for the NBA draft following a successful season at Texas. Hunter has elected to keep his college eligibility as a new instated by the NCAA, just a few days prior to Hunter’s declaration, which allows him to do so. Although Hunter has achieved about as much success as a 19-year-old can in the basketball world, it hasn’t always been smooth sailing.
Let’s start from the beginning.
Minnesota Timberwolves star Rudy Gobert got into a physical altercation with his teammate, Kyle Anderson, in a crucial game against the New Orleans Pelicans on April 9th.
Gobert lunged at his teammate during a timeout in the second quarter. He was ejected from the game and suspended for the following match-up against the LA Lakers, which would determine their fate in the NBA Playoffs.
The Golden State Warriors team in 2016 was the best team ever to play the game of basketball. Plain and simple.
The season was like nothing the NBA world had ever seen. The Warriors finished with a regular-season record of 73-9, the best regular-season record in NBA history. They had 1 more win and 1 less loss than the previous record holder; the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls who finished with a record of 72-10.
In my opinion, this Michael Jordan led Bulls team is the only team ever to exist that could possibly be argued against the 2016 Warriors as the best team ever. However, I personally do not think it is much of a debate.
What are the reasons behind their improbable fall?
Just days after acquiring superstar Kyrie Irving in a blockbuster trade, the Dallas Mavericks, led by at the time MVP contender Luka Doncic, sat comfortably in fourth place in the Western Conference and were holding onto a first-round home-court advantage in the playoffs.
Despite optimism from fans heading into the first round of the NBA playoffs, the Milwaukee Bucks lasted only five games. So what’s next for the team, and what changes need to be made to ensure they don’t repeat this performance next season?
The Milwaukee Bucks went into the 2023 postseason with high hopes. Led by MVP finalist Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Bucks were rolling into the playoffs hoping to make a 2021-esque NBA Finals run after being eliminated by the Boston Celtics in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals last year.
From Lebron James’ record-breaking season to presumptive 2023 NBA No. 1 Draft pick Victor Wembanyama, basketball fans have plenty of reasons to be excited. So why is the future of the NBA in jeopardy?
On the surface, the NBA’s future is as bright as ever.
On Wednesday night, the Bucks hosted the Heat in Game 2 of the opening round of the NBA playoffs. Facing the threat of a 2-0 deficit and missing their MVP finalist, the Bucks cruised to a 138-122 victory.
