The Milwaukee Brewers Have an Outfield Problem

A unique situation regarding the organization’s outfielders is setting up the Brewers’ front office for some interesting decisions in the near future.

During the many eras of Milwaukee baseball, most included an outfielder who became labeled as the “face of the franchise.” First were the days of Hank Aaron and the Milwaukee Braves, followed by the Robin Yount-led Brewers of the ‘80s. Ryan Braun helped revive the franchise in the late ‘00s and early ‘10s before passing the torch to Christian Yelich, who was arguably the best player in Major League Baseball between 2018-19.

Major League Baseball’s rule changes are a step in the right direction

A 15-second pitch clock, bigger bases, and a ban on shifting has increased excitement and action for baseball fans.

In recent years, Major League Baseball has struggled with slow-paced, low action contests that push fans further away from the game. Once America’s pastime, baseball has now become only 11% of adults’ favorite sport – well behind football at 34%, according to CNN Sports.

This season, the MLB has employed a few new changes that promise to not only make baseball more exciting and entertaining for fans, but to increase the speed of action throughout the game.
