From the Sideline to the Forefront: The Story Behind True Freshman Measner’s First Year on the Badgers

After a 19th place finish at the Indoor Big Ten Track and Field Championships, true freshman Logan Measner sat down in Head Coach Mick Byrne’s office to recap his indoor season and outline his steps for the spring.

After coming off an injury that sidelined him for half of his first cross country season, Measner and his coach decided to redshirt his jersey for the spring and begin a long rebuild in preparation for the 2023-2024 season. That was before they saw him steeplechase. 2 months later, donning a plain jersey, Measner stepped off the track well ahead of the competition after 2000 meters in his debut.

That’s when things changed.

Opinion: Wisconsin basketball fans are spoiled

The Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball team had a season that came up short of the standard the program has set in recent years, causing many fans to become impatient and call for a change in leadership of the program despite the success the team has had recently.

The Badgers have won two Big Ten championships in the last four years, made 22 of the last 24 NCAA tournaments and have had only two seasons in the last 17 years where they have won less than 20 games. Despite this, many Badger fans are not content.

I would be lying if I said I was not using this article as an opportunity to air some grievances.

Hepburn is coming off an all-Big Ten honorable mention season as a sophomore, following being named to the all-Big Ten freshman team in his first year.

Hepburn, along with other players returning, realize the special opportunity in front of them with the majority of the roster coming back for next year.

Converting at the Charity Stripe: Former Badger Gives Back Through Basketball

Rashard Griffith hurried towards the Middleton High School fieldhouse in early November, the sound of dribbling basketballs growing louder with each step.

Team tryouts began at 4:00 and Griffith’s phone read 4:30.

Joining a new team was practically second nature to Griffith, who played for ten different professional clubs across the world. The star center’s playing days, however, were far behind him.

Success of Women’s Hockey Program Generates Buzz for Other Women’s Sports

Coming off another national championship win, the women’s hockey program is arguably one of the most successful teams in Badger history.

The Badgers hold the title for the most NCAA championships with seven. They started their NCAA domination in 2006, when they beat out the Minnesota Gophers for the national title. The program’s continued success has generated more buzz around women’s sports in Wisconsin.
